Boat Disinfection

To prevent the introduction of invasive exotic species, such as the zebra mussel, a boat and equipment disinfection process must be carried out. Otherwise, it could pose a serious environmental threat. This species spreads through microscopic larvae that can attach to sports boats coming from other waters.

For this reason, all boats that have previously been in other waters must undergo a disinfection process before entering the Estany de Banyoles. These measures include cleaning, drying, and inspecting boats and equipment before coming into contact with the lake's water.

The Estany (lake) de Banyoles and its surroundings are a unique natural space of great geological, ecological, landscape and cultural value. It has been cataloged, since 1992, as an Area of ​​Natural Interest in the network of protected natural areas of the Generalitat de Catalunya (PEIN, 1992). Since 2002 it has been part of the list of wetlands of international importance of the RAMSAR convention and is also a Special Conservation Area of ​​the Natura 2000 network of the European Union.

Single-Use Bottles

Single-use bottles will not be allowed at the Estany de Banyoles. All participants are encouraged to use reusable bottles. The tap water in Banyoles is safe to drink and can be used at the facility's taps. For those who prefer, bottled water can be refilled at the food trucks in the Village area.

To reduce paper usage, documents such as registration lists, results, and others will be available online on the event's website.

Public Transport

A public transport stop is located 100 meters from the participant service area, providing connections to nearby towns (Girona, Olot, Figueres). Tickets can be purchased directly from the driver.
